Researches, evaluates, recommends and documents new products, processes, workflows and procedures to provide technical and business solutions for business partners Serves as the primary liaison between business partners and Systems Defines, analyzes, clarifies, interprets, and translates detailed business requirements Coordinates and executes the development of test cases and analysis of results WHAT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ARE NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION? Develops, and demonstrates knowledge regarding Integrated Solutions Department (ISD) structure, methodology, and processes, best practices to complete assignments and influence the directions of solutions (ie may include testing discipline/State Farm's planning principals/user interface design principles) Works with vendors and external partners, evaluating products and making recommendations to management to meet State Farm's business needs Develops, applies, and promotes use of tools and processes for component, project work, and/or support efforts (ie may be specific to testing/State Farm's planning principals and/or user interface design principles and standards) Determines communication needs, gathers appropriate information, and develops communications that are understandable to the target audience, and works with Communication Unit when appropriate Develops materials and may train business users on strategies/processes/procedures Links business and information technology (IT) industry trends and best practices with State Farm strategic goals Partners with business areas to identify, interpret, analyze, clarify and document business requirements and prepares recommendations based on analysis Develops and applies knowledge of systems tools, processes, and business analyst responsibilities and expectations within assigned area to perform daily activities Participates in research and recommends appropriate solutions Builds working relationships and strategic partnering skills with business partners, team members, and external associates Helps managers and project managers in coordinating activities with other team members Develops project skills, including data conversion, unit testing, system testing, implementation Learns State Farm's planning principals and/or testing concepts and/or user center design techniques and processes (ie planning sessions, network diagrams, schedules, budgets, resource usage analysis, testing tools, defect management, test life cycle) Serves as an advisor/consultant for management and business and Systems partners on applicable business and technical topics within assigned area of responsibility Conducts research, analyzes and synthesizes information; anticipating business needs and its application to processes and potential solutions Leads and/or contributes to strategic work (complex and crosses multiple organizational boundaries) and influences the direction set for teams, procedures, and processes Possesses broad-based knowledge in analyzing potential impact of change to other areas and often guides others in understanding the impact Develops specialized knowledge of one or more business partner areas and the system and technologies the area uses ITEMS OF NOTE Job may require travel via commercial transportation and/or driving motor vehicles Job may require irregular work hours and travel outside normal business hours ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Opening is in the Integrated Solutions Department on the Needs Analysis and Recommendation (NAR) team. This position focuses on Agency/Marketing dept. technology solutions identification, evaluation, implementation and delivery. Qualified candidates should possess Business Analyst and Information Technologies knowledge, skills and experience with an emphasis in web and database technologies. KEY QUALIFICATIONS - Seeking the following key qualifications: - Experience with and technical working knowledge of Marketing campaign development software. Experience with IBM Unica / Experience One product suite and other integrating industry products is highly desirable - Information technologies with a web development emphasis (specifically HTML, CSS, JavaScript) - Marketing database or data warehouse experience; including SQL, reporting, and providing data requirements - Marketing campaign analytics reporting experience is a plus, but not required - Prior team lead and/or coordination experience is a plus - Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially seeking someone with the ability to express complex technical solution information in a manner easily consumable by business partners - Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, both within each project and across multiple projects EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Applied Computer Science or Technology related degree preferred, but not required with applicable experience RESPONSIBILITIES: - Understand Agency/Marketing program vision and develop technology solution roadmaps with business and technical (Systems) teams - Lead business and technical (Systems) teams to drive scope development, approval and implementation - Lead working sessions with both business and technical (Systems) teams to drive project work from idea through execution - Work closely with the analytics and Business teams to develop campaign design, analysis, and reporting requirements - Partner closely with technical (Systems) teams to drive resolution of technical issues during development, testing, post-implementation and production support phases - Provide training, strategic and tactical guidance to junior analysts BENEFITS: TOTAL REWARDS Our Total Rewards benefits package includes: Competitive starting salary Annual merit reviews Annual bonus potential You may also be eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Life and Disability Insurance, Vision, 401(k) Plan, Credit Union, a fully funded retirement pension plan, and more.
