The Cybersecurity Specialist advocates for the importance and benefits of cybersecurity and participates in the development, implementation and support of the Associations cybersecurity program.The successful incumbent will:Implement cybersecurity proceduresComplete audits and risk assessments to ensure security policies are adhered to and identifies security gaps and associated risksRecommend controls and technologies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with existing, new and changing regulations and auditing recommendationsCoordinate security awareness training by identifying and selecting 3rd party training vendors and resources, reviewing training results and recommending topics for future trainingProvide information and guidance on security policies to team members and departmentsEvaluate security exception requests and researches alternative solutionsMonitor systems for security incidents and alertsInvestigate legitimacy and impact of security incidents and alertsDetermine and implement appropriate responseNotify management and other information technology team members of incidentsResearch and recommend a roadmap for the cybersecurity programResearch, recommend and write cybersecurity policiesDevelop and document cybersecurity proceduresInstall, maintain and monitor security infrastructure, including antivirus and malware tools, server and workstation hardening, facility access solutions, and Security Information and Event Management toolsCoordinate efforts with external security vendors, receives and provides information and audits the performance of external vendorsDefine technical requirements and facilitates the development of business requirements for security technology solutionsEvaluate and recommend vendors and security productsDetermine financial impact of technology solutionsCompile information on cybersecurity industry standards and best practices and may author articles for internal publicationMove, add, change and delete security accessVerify proper access authorizationAudit security access for appropriatenessParticipate on project teams as a security resourceJob Requirements:Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree and 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the jobRequired Knowledge and SkillsWorking knowledge of security program frameworks, specifically NIST 800 and the NIST xxxx3 standardWorking knowledge of data network configuration and infrastructure concepts, including TCP/IP, routers, internet/intranet/extranet, firewalls, web servers and security hierarchy including the application of encryption key infrastructure and authentication processesSkill in conducting security and risk assessmentsSkill in investigating security incidents related to internet, server, desktop, tablet and other mobile devices, etc.Skill in installing operating system patches, server and workstation hardening and installing antivirus softwareSkill utilizing troubleshooting and security tools such as Nmap, Nessus and WiresharkSkill utilizing Microsoft SCCM and SCEP for patch management and antivirusSkill in developing technical and procedural documentationSkill in administering MicrosoftActive Directory groups and group membershipSkill in communicating technical information to a nontechnical audienceOral and written communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of jobrelated topics, and to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiencesPhysical RequirementsThe team member is required to respond to security incidents and perform assigned tasks as needed, including during nontraditional work hours.
